I have been experimenting a lot with mushrooms recently and looking at the many ways I can create a quick breakfast or snack. Previously, I have made creamy mushroom on toast and then creamy mushrooms and spinach on toast.
If you are a not cream fan or you are watching your health, then this might be the snack for you. If you like all things chilli and spice then this is also for you. You can have this as a breakfast or snack and it packs quite a punch. Also you get a good dose of Vitamin D.
Prep: 5 mins
Cooking time: 15-20 mins
-4 Chestnut Mushrooms (chopped into slices).
-1 Tsp of Cayenne Pepper Powder
-1/2 tsp Chipotle chilli flakes
-1 tsp Garlic Paste
-1 tsp Parsley
-1 knob of butter
-Salt and pepper to taste.
Wash the mushrooms.
Chop the mushrooms into thin slices.
Add one knob of butter and fry on a medium heat.
Add mushrooms and herbs to the frying pan.
Add the cayenne pepper.
Turn the heat down low and allow the mushrooms to stew a bit.
Serve on toast.
